Doylestown Youth Fishing
Doylestown’s annual youth fishing program is fully supported by contributions of time, money and supplies from many wonderful individuals, businesses and organizations in our community. Without their generous donations, Doylestown’s Youth Fishing Program would not be possible.
This program has been a vital part of Doylestown’s community for many years — and we hope it will continue to be for many, many years to come. If you would like to support our program, please email us firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, phone number and best time to reach you.
Doylestown's Youth Fishing Program is a community tradition that dates back as long as anyone now living can remember. Before the start of trout fishing each year, volunteers from around Doylestown clean and prepare the Borough Dam pond located at Chapman Park. Then volunteers -- many of them youths from local schools -- stock trout in the pond. Trout range in size from 8 to 24 inches!
When the big day arrives, youth age 16 and under are invited to cast their lines and enjoy a wonderful day of fishing. While fishing is limited, kids from 2 to 102 get to enjoy the fun! Local businesses provide refreshments including hotdogs, water ice, pretzels and candy. It's a great community celebration -- and a rite of spring in Doylestown, PA.
We hope you'll be part of this -- as a volunteer, a supporter, a youth fishing participant, or just an interested citizen who wants to be part of the celebration.
